Dalwallinu Wattle Week Festival

Activities are organised each day in an area with some of the most diverse Acacia species in the world. Included are bush walk tours, evening barbecues and an evening barn dance.
A wildflower display at Wubin is also part of this festival.

Kings Park and Botanic Garden Wildflower Festival

As a showcase for Western Australia’s spectacular wildflowers, the Festival draws thousands of people each year. Display gardens and demonstrations are presented alongside a wealth of botanical information about many of the 12,000 species that grow wild within the state’s borders

2010 Victoria plains Wildflower walk
Sunday 19th September 2010 at ‘Waterlee’ Calingiri – 10am
Enjoy a day in the country starting with morning tea, then a guided tour through natural bushland, and finishing with a bush lunch, environment discussions and local produce stalls.
Cost: Adults - $30 pre-paid, $35 at the gate. Children, aged 6-16 yrs - $10 pre-paid, $15 at the gate.  *10% discount for pre-paid groups of 8 or more

Albany Wildflower Festival

Esperance Wildflower Festival

The indoor display features over 400 identified wildflower species. Explore the native garden displays. Morning, afternoon teas and lunches are available.

Ongerup Wildflower Display

This display features some of the region’s 400 varieties of wildflowers. Visit the natural history museum which includes an Aboriginal bush foods display. There is also a delightful picnic park here.

Wildflower Wander Expedition
Enjoy the beauty of the spring flowers as you spend four days hiking almost 70km in one of the most scenic sections of the Bibbulmun Track.  Starting from Kalamunda (option 1), you will be amazed at the scenery each day has to offer – the mysterious boulders, the expansive views and the misty mornings. Start from Mundaring (option 2) on the Saturday if you prefer.  Great for those yet to explore the Track beyond Mundaring in the Perth Hills.

Planning night: Friday 17th September, 6.30pm.
Dates:       Friday 24th to Monday 27th September (long weekend).
Cost option 1 (4 days): $250
Cost option 2 (3 days): $210 non-members (own transport to Mundaring).

Includes return transport ex East Perth Rail Terminal (exc option 2 participants), comprehensive planning night, trip preparation manual, map and equipment hire. BYO food. Walkers must be fit, have previous overnight experience carrying full packs, and not be chronic AFL supporters!

Wildflower Day Walk
Don’t just gawk at them! Come and learn about the many wildflowers in bloom on a guided walk (8km with some steep hills) near Kalamunda this spring. Guides will assist you to identify the flora along the way. A copy of ‘Wildflowers of the Northern Bibbulmun Track and Jarrah Forests’ is included. A good level of fitness is required.
