Bunbury

Wildflowers in bloom: Katherine Chauhan Reserve (corner Parade Rd and Guile Fawy)
This quiet reserve has a wonderful display of wildflowers including White Spider Orchids, Cowslip Orchids, Pink Fairy Orchids, Donkey Orchids, Kangaroo Paws, Wattle, Purple Tassels, Milk Maids, Blue Squill, Running Postman and Salt and Pepper Bush.

This quiet reserve has a wonderful display of wildflowers including White Spider Orchids, Cowslip Orchids, Pink Fairy Orchids, Donkey Orchids, Kangaroo Paws, Wattle, Purple Tassels, Milk Maids, Blue Squill, Running Postman and Salt and Pepper Bush.

Take the Pultenaea Loop walk trail to see kangaroo paws, blue squill, jug orchids, snail orchids, greenhoods, donkey orchids, pink fairy orchids, kick bush, running postman, common buttercup bush, coral vine, blue hovea bush, climbing hovea, cow slip orchids, salt and pepper bush, white spider orchids, hibbertia and egg and bacon bush.

 

Tuart Walk (Southern end of Ocean Drive)

Wander on the sealed walkway between Bunbury and Dalyellup to find false boronia, climbing hovea, common buttercup bush, greenhoods and snail orchids, pink fairy orchids, cowslip orchids, white spider orchids, donkey orchids, purple tassels.

 

Crooked Brook Forest (Ferguson Valley)

Along the sealed walkway at the picnic area see a large display of white bearded heath, yellow candles, wattle, blue sun orchids, running postman, buttercup bush, blue hovea bush, pink myrtle, hakea, coral vine, coky’s tongue, hibbertia.

 

Bunbury Guided Wildflower Walk

Wildflowers in bloom: Prickly Moses, Swan River Myrtle, Chestnut Sun Orchid, Cowslip, Diamond Spider Orchi,Leaping Spider Orchid and Egg & Bacon Pea.

Stirling Ranges

Wildflowers in bloom: Numerous well camouflaged orchids include Bird, Sun, Vanilla and Lemon Scented Orchids. Others include 1080 Pea, Orange Cat’s Paws, Red Gravillea, Running Postman, Leschenaultia and Banksia. Many Hakeas are now in flower also.
Caledonia, Butterfly, Esperacne King Spider, Leaping Spider, King Spider, Fringed Mantis, Zebra Orchids are also in flower. Acacias, and Whire Paper Heath look pretty in Mallee on the edges of the roads. Try Stirling Range Drive, Red Gum Pass, Mt Hassel, Mount Trio, Mount Magog, Mount Talyuberlup are all worth visiting.

Ravensthorpe

Wildflowers in bloom:  Ravensthorpe Bottlebrush, Prickly Dryandra, Grevillea Coccinea, Tallerack, Banksia, Boronia ternate, Hakea multilineata and many Wattles.

Also Qualup Bells, Hakea Victoria, Wax flowers, Wattles, Grevillea in Fitzgerald River National Park. Try Archer Drive, Ranges Scenic Drive, Ethel Daw Scenic Drive and Hamersley Drive in Fitzgerald River National Park and Mt Madden Scenic Drive

Gooseberry Hill National Park/Zig-Zag Scenic Drive – Grevilleas, Mytrle, Hovea, Yellow Buttercup, Cowslip and Donkey Orchids, Kangaroo Paws, Smoke Grass, Blue & Yellow Flag.
Kalamunda National Park & Gi Lesmuride National Park – Similar on the trails
Zanthorrea Native Garden Centre, Maida Vale – has a display in full bloom of many species.

 

Wongan Hills

Wildflowers in bloom: Fox Glove, Grevilleas, Hakeas and many more are still in bloom.
Orchids are now at the end due to warm days. Still very pretty on roadsides and more, worth a visit.

Mundaring

Wildflowers in bloom: Grevilleas, Leschenaultia, Bacon&Eggs, Kanagaroo Paws, Buttercups, Acacia and Dampiera are all flowering in this area. Try Rycroft Rd, Glen Forrest, John Forrest NationalPArk are good spots to visit. Not a huge variety, but good show of flowers.

A good Orchid show, but other flowers are less prolific this season.
A wide variety of flowers to be seen from Wildflower Walk, please NOTE to stay on the path on this trail. Yellow Wattles and Banksias are excellent viewing throughout.

Orchids flowering at the moment: Donkey, Fufous Greenhood.

Wildflowers in bloom: Pink and white Everlastings have past their full bloom, along the roadside, throughout the district

Yellow pom poms in Coalseam Park, also to watch out for Blue Enamel Orchids amongst them. Also Depot Hill and Mingenew Hill are good spot for viewing.

Wildflowers in bloom:

There is a good display of Wreath flowers on Bateman Road. Orchids are flowering at Camel Soak Orchid Ridge & Caron Dam. There are a variety of wattles in bloom on the roadsides, and overall it is a good season here for wildflower enthusiasts.

What’s flowering:  Everlastings, Orchids and Acacias are still flowering, although strong wind of late made Everlasting to tail end of the flowering for maybe another week or so.

What’s flowering;  Pink/yellow/white Everlastings are still blooming, but starting to fade a little. But the overall effect is still photogenic scenery.

What’s flowering:  Pink and white Everlastings at Wubin Rocks, Jibberding rest stop, White Wells rest stop and Petrudor Rock.

Spider orchids north of Wubin truck bay on Wubin-Mullewa Rd.

More orchids – Blue, jumping Jacks and Spider at Buntine Rocks

More at Mia Moon also.

Donkey Orchids in Dalwallinu town site

Some Wreath Leschenaultia are out also.

Wattles are bursting all over, particularly at Petrudor Rocks(33km East of Pithara on Kalannie-Pithara Rd), an ideal picnic spot

More flowers such as Hakea, Grevillea, Dampiera and Solanum are all out.

Wildflowers blooming: Leschenaultia, Flame Grevillea, Wattle, Sennas and Hibbertia are colouring the landscape near Tarin Rock Reserve, Jarring Road South near Lake Grace, and Newdegate. Curry flowers, Wattles, Bush Peas, small variety of Everlastings and Leschenaultia, White Pom Poms, Kunzia, Heath Myrtle and Blue Dampiera are all in full bloom at Rifle Range Reserve short drive from town centre.

Lake King

Wildflowers in bloom: Flame Grevilleas, Donkey and Spider Orchids in bloom on walk trails. Gold and Pink Verticordias, Blue Dampiera along Cascade Road, Rabbit Proof Fence on Norsman Road. A variety of Orchids including Donkey, Spider and Green Hoods are found near Mount Madde,n, Sugg Rock and Lake Camm.  Pleanty of Wattles, Tea Trees and Melaleuca, Tinsel flowers, Adenanthusa dn Lachnostachys are also beautiful in the area.

Bremer Bay

Wildflowers in bloom: Pom Poms, Melaleucas, Grass trees and Qaalup Bells are in full bloom. Also Sun and China Blue Orchids are flowering here. It is still very much in flower in this area.
